This week, I am reading from an incredible book called Voices of History: Speeches That Changed the World by Simon Sebag Montefiore. And I'm super excited because the big talk I’m sharing in this episode is from the section of the book about decency.

This talk — “The Ability of Human Beings to Remake Themselves for the Better” — was given by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in December of 2012. She is one of the most amazing novelists of the 21st century, and I know her words will move you today.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

  • The impact Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has made through her books and her speaking

  • Why we should all be angry about gender as the world currently defines it

  • How to incite change when you speak

  • My thoughts on this powerful speech about gender
