Today, I’m so excited to be sharing with you another talk from my latest Speaker’s Salon Showcase!
Each year, I curate the Speaker Salon in New York City to give speakers an incubator to work on their craft. They take the stage each week and receive live direction on their content, performance, and blocking. This experience culminates in a live, fully produced showcase featuring every Salon member.
These speakers have gone on to become the go-to thought leaders in their fields. They also have become a part of a community of authentic, heart-centered communicators who are having a massive impact.
This Showcase talk, “From Shattered Dreams to Posttraumatic Growth,” is from the incredible Dr. Shenell Evans. She previously appeared on The Big Talk in Episode 380.
Dr. Shenell is a New York City based Licensed Psychologist and Posttraumatic Growth Oracle. She helps clients, often Black and Brown professionals, master the capacities necessary to build resilience and experience posttraumatic growth after trauma. She provides sacred space and evidence-based technologies for their continued evolution.
In her talk, she explores:
- Her personal story as an ambitious, young Black wife and mother moving from the Deep South to New York City
- Turning pain into a catalyst for growth
- Honoring your needs and being compassionately curious with your emotions
- How posttraumatic growth works alongside fighting for change
